You've probably
never thought about it, but a number of the basic truths about
fly fishing apply to marketing and communication as well. Let's
start with these:
1) The right
fly, placed properly on the water, gets the strike; and
2) The harder
you flog the water, the more fish you'll drive away
Let's face
it, presentation is everything.
How your audience
perceives your message is at least as important as the message
itself.

Put another
way, before you can communicate, you have to connect.
We know how
to connect with people at a fundamental level. By distilling complex
issues down to singular ideas. And presenting them to people as
concepts they can readily embrace.
Anyone can
find the river.
Not everyone can think like a trout.
